About

Who we are.

We are a family created by God for His glory. We are parents, singles, children, newlyweds, and grandparents. We come from all walks of life. We are factory workers, business owners, teachers, businessmen, blue collar workers, and unemployed. We are a diverse family of members who hunt, golf, sew, play music, garden, home-school, and public school. Above all we are a family with members who are striving to have an intimate relationship with Jesus. We gather on Sunday to worship Jesus, to study the Word of God, to fellowship with our church family, and to get ready for the week ahead. We want people who are desperate, lonely, struggling, abnormal, screwups, failures, successful, rich, poor, honest, winners, losers, quitters, whiners, black, white, or any other color, young, old, acedemic, uneducated, single, married, divorced, or married again, upper class, middle class, lower class, or no class, rejected, accepted, the good, the bad, the ugly... EVERYONE LOVED AS IS.

What's important.

  • GOSPEL: We cherish the message of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection and the hope it provides for the renewal of the whole world. Therefore, we weave the gospel into every decision, demand, doctrine, and delight (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
  • THE BIBLE: We cherish Holy Scripture. The Bible oversees every facet of our worship of God and service to one another as well as the surrounding community. Therefore, as a church, we perpetually examine the Bible’s teaching in order to reform and refine ourselves and our strategies (Psalm 19:7-14; 1 Timothy 3:16).
  • COMMUNITY: We cherish the process of becoming a humble community of Christ followers. Therefore, we seek to honor God as God in all our endeavors, relate to one another in honest, edifying ways, and measure greatness in terms of sacrificial service to Jesus, one another, and the world (Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Peter 5:5-11).
  • THE MISSION: We cherish the role Jesus gives us to play in God’s grand redemptive story. We believe every follower of Christ is called to serve Jesus by making disciples. Therefore, we encourage and equip one another to do so in the relational cross-sections of day-to-day life (Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 17:16-34).
  • GENEROSITY: We cherish the opportunity we have to leverage our time, talent, and treasure towards caring for the urgent physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors both near and far. Therefore, we seek to glorify God’s grace by giving generously towards that which advances and accentuates the priorities of the kingdom of God (Luke 10:25-37; 2 Corinthians 8:1-15).
  • INTEGRITY: We cherish the process of becoming a distinct community within Upper Peninsula for the sake of the Upper Peninsula. We desire to contribute to the overall welfare of our communities by expressing and embodying the ethics of God’s kingdom. Therefore, we encourage Christian engagement with culture with integrity, authenticity, faithfulness, and excellence (Matthew 5:13-16; Colossians 3:23).
  • GLOBAL: We cherish God’s gospel as good news for the whole world. The message of being reconciled to God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is too powerful and too precious to remain among one group of people. Therefore, we are compelled by love to take the gospel to all people everywhere (Psalm 67; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21).
