LEADERSHIP

Paul is married to Sandy, his high school sweetheart and best friend, whom he loves and cherishes. They have been married for over 16 years and have six amazing kids; Kaylee, Tony, Peighton, Landon, Elin and Lorilei. One of the greatest adventures of Paul’s life has been being a daddy. Paul was born and raised in Michigan, having lived in the Detroit and Traverse City areas. In full-time ministry since 1999, Paul and Sandy also spent three years as missionaries. For eight years, Paul worked as a Student Ministries Pastor and spent the last five years replanting a church.  A life-long student with a passion for Church Planting, Paul is a graduate from Porterbrook Network out of Porterbrook Seminary.  He served as a regional director for the church planting network, Mission Carolina. Paul's three greatest passions in ministry are Men, Marriage, and Multiplication (Discipleship).

Pastor Jon (aka PJ)  grew up in Sparta, Michigan, the second of four children. His family was, and still is, very active in Kent City Baptist Church. He was homeschooled having attended both private and public schools. He was very active in football, wrestling, and baseball. During his junior year of high school, he felt God calling him into youth ministry. Pastor Jon went on to attend Moody Bible Institute where he met his wife Jessica.

After graduation from Moody in 2005, Jon served three years as the Student Ministries Pastor at a large church in New Jersey, just outside of New York City. Pastor Jon and Jessica began their ministry here at Grace in May of 2008.

The home life of Jon and Jessica revolves around their four children, Jenna, Chase, Sawyer, and Emerson.  In his spare time Pastor Jon loves to hunt and fish. His other favorite interests include people, the outdoors, University of Michigan Football, Tigers Baseball, and unfortunately, Lions Football.

Jon has a passion for young people. Nothing pleases him more than young people growing in their faith and engaging the world around them with the love of Christ.

Pastor Dave is native to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where he learned to appreciate the snow and the people who hide underneath it for most of the year. He grew up in a family, with his parents and sister, who made sure that Jesus was the priority. Surrounded by music and church life, Dave developed a love for music and God’s Word at a young age. Music and worship became a central focus during high school, college, and youth ministry. Ten years of wonderful ministry with a church in Marquette, Michigan, opened up his eyes to how much he enjoyed encouraging people to love the Lord.
Dave met his wife Audrey in the fourth grade at a little Christian school in the Upper Peninsula and they were hard to separate after Junior High.  They have experienced and led various Bible studies, youth groups, worship services, and college and church ministries together.  When they were married during their last year of college, they were almost immediately blessed with their first of four children. Isabel, Henry, Charlotte, and Maev make up the little universe they exist in. The Hansons love to explore the outdoors, travel, visit family and friends, sing, play Legos and video games, watch movies, learn new things, and just be together.
Dave’s great desire is to see people lifting up their voices and hands to bring glory to Jesus Christ together as the Church and everywhere they go!

Pastor Jason was born and raised in a Christian family in Berkley, MI.  In 1995, Jason moved to the Upper Peninsula where he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ while working with the youth in Munising.  In 2003, Jason met his best friend and amazing wife, Jeannette, while they were attending Bible college in SC. God has richly blessed Jason and Jeannette with four children – Thomas, Levi, Anna, and Clara.  

Jason has served Jesus in various vocations throughout his ministerial career including: house parents for troubled youth, Chaplaincy, 5^th and 6^th grade Christian School Teacher, and Pastor. 

In his free time Jason enjoys experiencing the outdoors through hiking, mountain biking, and hunting.  Jason and Jeannette are passionate about gospel-centered local church ministry and look forward to serving your family at Grace Church.

Dr. Scott is a family physician and our family moved to Escanaba in 2009.  His wife Stacey and he were high school sweethearts. They have three children: Julia, Elise and Luke.   Grace Church was a major factor in deciding to move to the area. In one visit, it was apparent that God was moving on the bluff and we wanted to be a part of that work.  They felt at home right away. He enjoys sports of all kinds. While he plays football, softball and volleyball, watching U of M football games is one of his favorite activities. He enjoys leading a Life Group with Stacey . They have made some great friendships through that ministry.

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ...

Don and his bride Linda have been married over forty years. They have three children, that are married and among them are seven grandchildren. My quiver is full!

Don enjoys growing in understanding of the gospel, the grace it provides, the joy it creates, and the focus and direction it gives to his life and those around him. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, working on their small farm, the yard and garden, his camp and all that goes with them. He likes and is thankful for his job.

He loves and appreciates Grace Church and the opportunity to serve Christ as an Elder.

Darrin married his high school sweetheart, Jill, and they have been best friends for over 35 years. They have three adult children; son Tyler (married to Miranda) and two daughters,Jessica (Married to Zack) and Caitlin.

Darrin works as an engineer at the local paper mill. In his free time he enjoys many activities in the great outdoors. What Darrin values most about Grace Church is the authenticity of fellow servants and the vibrant atmosphere where God is continuously at work transforming lives for His glory.
